Writes what she loves

About Me

When I thought of a future career I always wanted to be a writer.  I started writing constantly when I was 8 years old, I wrote short stories and diary entries. I started writing poems when I was 14 years old. I was always going to the library and borrowing books about writing in order to find my voice. When a discount bookstore opened up I started buying books about writing, but continued to borrow writing books from the library. I’d spend hours writing every night, often until past 1am. I fell asleep while writing and there would be ink stains on the sheets that sank down into the mattress. I had to check my pen to see if any ink was left, sometimes there wasn’t. Everyone my age thought I was weird for using correct grammar as well as reading dictionaries and thesauruses, but I'd pick my favorite word of the day. My family has occasionally asked me to write business letters and resumes on their behalf and I have done so, but only because it’s writing and that’s what I do. Now I do late night writing on my laptop. I still fall asleep while writing, but without the ink stains and wasted ink. I enjoy writing poetry, instructional manuals and guides, and journaling or blogging. I’m also writing fiction and fantasy books and think I enjoy it, but don’t feel like I’m getting anywhere with them.
